Indigo sashiko mini purse

Make your own beautiful sashiko indigo dyed mini purse at the beautuful indie vintage friperie store and dye room. This is an introduction to this historic magical blue dye, using fresh Japanese Indigo grown in Cardiff.
You’ll get to try various techniques, using minimum tools, chemicals and processing for a range of fresh blues: salt rub, blender, hapazome and stenciling with fresh leaves - plus a natural indigo vat ready made up for dipping.
Then make your fabric up into a cute folded and sewn mini purse. It makes a perfect gift or a treasure to keep to yourself.
All materials are provided, but if you have some of your own natural cloth or yarn, you’re welcome to bring it along.
You’ll likely get blue splashes or drips so bring gloves if you’re sensitive and dress appropriately! (we can supply a pinny) 😊🩵
